Commercial HVAC in Coeur d'Alene
We service the heating and cooling that keeps your shop, office or storefront open: rooftop units, split systems, unit heaters and controls. We find the fault, hand you a written quote before any work begins and tell you plainly whether a repair or new equipment is the better spend.
Heating and cooling for the places you do business
Commercial equipment works harder than most. A rooftop unit over a busy dining room or sales floor can run most of the day for months, and it sits exposed to sun, wind and snow all year. The wear is fairly predictable: belts glaze, contactors pit, capacitors weaken and economizer linkages seize.
We start from repair. Many units have years left in the cabinet and compressor long after a motor or control board gives out, so we fix what failed and show you what we found. When a heat exchanger is cracked, a compressor has quit on an aging unit or parts are no longer made, we say so and walk you through replacement, with free estimates on new equipment.
We work with businesses in Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls and the surrounding area, and we plan visits around your hours so staff and customers see as little of us as possible.
Equipment we look after
- Packaged rooftop units
- Gas valves, igniters, flame sensors, blower motors and compressors all get checked with meters, not guesswork. When the cabinet and the major components are sound, we swap only the part that failed.
- Economizers and controls
- A damper frozen open or a dead outdoor air sensor can have your building warming or cooling air it ought to be closing out. Actuators, sensors and thermostat schedules are tested so equipment runs when the space actually needs it.
- Hanging unit heaters
- The gas-fired heaters in warehouses, garages and workshops are cleaned, inspected for proper venting and brought back to safe operation.
- Splits and ductless mini-splits
- Server closets, back offices and later additions often have their own split system or ductless mini-split. We can look after those during the same visit as the main equipment.
- Refrigerant leaks
- We locate the leak, seal it and charge the system to the manufacturer's spec. If an older unit runs on a phased-out refrigerant, we tell you honestly whether the fix is worth it or only buys a short season.
- New equipment when repair stops paying
- We size the unit to the space and the way it is used, arrange a crane or lift when the roof requires one and pull the permit.
When your commercial system is asking for a visit
Uneven temperatures across the floor
Staff at the front are sweating while the back room stays cold. A weak blower, a damper that will not move or a unit that has lost capacity is a common cause.
Higher bills with no change in hours
When your schedule holds steady but usage keeps creeping up, some piece of equipment is probably straining.
Rapid cycling or a unit that never rests
Starting and stopping every few minutes, or running without a break, wears out parts fast and seldom keeps people comfortable.
Sounds or odors overhead
A belt squeal, a rattle inside the cabinet or a scorched smell at the registers deserves a look before it turns into a shutdown.
Stained or dripping ceiling tiles
Moisture under a rooftop unit usually traces back to a blocked condensate line or a drain pan that has corroded through.
A fault that keeps coming back
If the same problem returns after every service call, the root cause was likely missed. We follow it back until the fix lasts.
What happens on a commercial service call
- 1
You reach us
Tell us what the equipment is doing and when the building is least busy. Breakdown calls are answered at any hour, with no extra charge for nights, weekends or urgent visits.
- 2
Tracking down the fault
We follow the problem from the thermostat to the roof, logging readings and taking photos of what we see. The diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair if you go ahead.
- 3
Written quote, honest answer
No work begins until you have a written quote. If new equipment is the better choice, we show you the readings and worn parts behind that call.
- 4
Repair, check and clean up
After you approve, we do the work and run a full heating or cooling cycle while checking supply temperatures. We take old parts and packaging away and leave the roof the way it was.

What sets the price of commercial work
Every building is laid out differently, so we see the equipment in person before quoting. Your written quote lists parts and labor on separate lines, and nothing is added without your approval.
- Equipment type and size
- A big packaged rooftop unit needs more labor hours and pricier parts than a small split system or a single hanging heater.
- Access to the unit
- Roof hatches, ladders, high ceilings and any crane or lift change the labor time. Snow on the roof in winter can mean extra setup too.
- Parts and refrigerant
- Common motors and controls are easy to get. Discontinued parts and older refrigerants cost more and can make new equipment the better choice.
- Unit count and timing
- Servicing several units on one trip costs less than separate visits, and scheduled work fits around your hours more easily than a breakdown.
Commercial HVAC questions
Something not covered here? (208) 980-2770
Do you work on rooftop units?
Yes. Packaged rooftop units make up a big part of our commercial work, covering both the gas heat and cooling sections. We arrive with the fall protection and tools that roof access calls for.
Can you work after hours so we don't have to close?
Yes. We schedule repairs and new installs around your business, including evenings and early mornings. You will not see emergency or after-hours fees on the bill.
How do you decide between repair and replacement?
We weigh the unit's age, the state of the heat exchanger and compressor, its repair history and whether parts can still be sourced. If a fix will give you dependable years, that is our recommendation. If it will not, we explain our reasoning and give you a free estimate on new equipment.
Is there a charge to diagnose the problem?
Yes, a diagnostic fee applies. If you have us do the work, that fee goes toward the repair. Either way, you receive a written quote before any repair begins.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance for business equipment?
Yes. Our maintenance plans include tune-ups, repair discounts and priority scheduling. Talk with us by phone about how a plan suits the number and type of units you run, and see our Maintenance Plans page for more.
